This work aims to reorganise how the AUFS/COSS store directories rebuild their contents from disk into the memory index at startup.
The primary goals include:
- Reorganise the AUFS and COSS rebuild code to be clearer and easier to understand;
- Break out the code which reads the disk contents into a separate thread and/or process so rebuilds can occur in parallel;
- Unify the currently two different rebuild methods - rebuild-by-logfile and rebuild-by-disk-contents.
This project was completed mid-2009.
